Over 15 years performing on every conceivable stage, Freddie's live act is as engaging and entertaining as it is intimate and vulnerable. “Easily one of the best things I've seen live - and I've seen Take That!” - Freddie's Mum.
Picking up the guitar at age 12 and taking to it like a duck to water, Freddie started his gigging career with his first school bands (first Karnage as a guitarist and then as front man and guitarist in Kuda Bux) both of which attracted attention, winning competitions and establishing a strong local following.
Never one to shy away from ‘the grind’, Freddie cut his musical teeth in the cover gig scene, starting out in the UK, then into the European touring circuit in bands such as The Jaybeez, Dutch Courage, Blind Vinyl and The Slopes. Primarily based in the French Alps during the Winter Ski Seasons, during the rest of the years you could find him playing on ships, in Irish pubs, weddings, funerals, house parties- you name it, he’s played them all.
Around this time, Freddie’s first love of creating original music burst through to the surface as he wrote and recorded two E.Ps “Opinions of No Substantial Ground” in 2015 & “Enjoy Slightly Chilled” in 2016. During this period he toured with the London/Australian Rock duo The Graveltones. This year and a half tour took them all over Europe - through Italy, Germany, Norway, England, Wales and Scotland. During this tour, Freddie befriended the American Cowpunk duo ‘Volk’ who offered him a support slot with them which took him back again around Europe for a third time!
Upon moving to Belgium in 2017, Freddie went full into producing more music with 2018’s “I.E” & 2020's “For Example” EP's. After several years of playing along and yearning for the comradeship of playing in a band again, Freddie formed “Freddie & the Fabs” and released four singles in 2022 and the EP “Little Moments” in 2023 followed by the “Clocks Go Back, Fabs Go Forth” tour which included shows in Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
In 2022, Freddie began teaching in a non-profit music school ‘Harteklop’, which revealed a passion for teaching. Upon the schools closing in 2024, and with his students wanting to continue the lessons, Freddie ventured out into private teaching to which he continues to this day.
In September 2024, looking for new ways of creative expressions, Freddie began a youtube channel, to both document his journey as an artist and musician, revealing the realities and truths of what this path can entail.
Refusing to dwindle, the creative spark continued in 2025 with the release of several solo singles (‘Awake Awake’, ‘Spend A Little Time’ and ‘Hard To Change’) as did the debut in 2026 of an instrumental project “Toe Beans” with two singles, ‘Big Stretch’ and ‘Bird Watching’.
With word spreading and cementing himself as part of the Belgian music scene, Freddie continues to not only be in demand as part of the cover/wedding/function scene as a solo act but also as one half of the duo Flanel, but he is also in demand as a session guitarist and bass player for such artists as singer songwriters as Simon Le Ma, Ellis Mane, Cat Nip and Isa Desmet, for rapper April Mae, for Afro-Beat band Kabunga and as of February 2026 as the permanent bass player in the spicy-pop-soul band Safran.
